Information society — what is it
Today I decided to dedicate a small article to such concept as the information society, and what effect it has on the institutional environment. In my opinion, the information society is a new milestone in the development of the institutional environment, and the consequences of the Information Society, we can observe in all spheres of life.
What characterizes the information society?
On this subject, written many articles and even books, the term information society is used more and more frequently in publications, but all opinions are quite different from each other, and often contradictory. Most of the authors are trying to consider the process of informatization of society in terms of positive or negative consequences. But personally, I see this process as an inevitable component of progress. What does the information society? This is a very serious change in the institutional environment.
I think that society is increasingly coming to the fact that the main asset of a person is not getting the financial resources but the extent of his fame and popularity. The key word in the information society is innovation. And innovation is a process that requires significant technological progress. It should also be noted that our world is becoming global, and if before the news expended around the world within a few days, now it is time measured in hours. Moreover, the level of confidence to this news is very high, and the consequences of its distribution are not forced to wait long.
Enough to take the recent incident with the sharks in Egypt - it's just an accident, this could happen in any sea, but this incident very fast and strong affected on the prestige of Egypt as a good touristic place. Information society forces us to be better educated to make better products. After all, if the scammers before could invented the system and cheated people, it worked for years, but now people learn about these systems in a few days. If the manufacturer does not produce any quality, millions of people find out about this after the first purchases. Speed of information is a direct consequence of the information society development. This leads to serious consequences. Personally, I believe that till 2015 the education system will change so that it will be hard to recognize: most likely curriculum will be replaced by electives courses, but in order to get a job will no longer need to have a diploma, but rather will have certificates of a specific set of courses completion.
I believe that in some perspective the main asset of human will not be money, but the number of people who know this man, and interested in what he says or what he says. Money will turn into an obvious consequence of measures "promoted" a person's name.
How to carry out activities in the information society?
Too many people believe that the development of the information society is too complicated for them and they are not prepared in any way to participate in it. However, not people keep pace with the environment, people just use outdated technologies that are not able to work with such a dynamic surrounding reality. I can formulate the following rules which are necessary to perform a successful man of the Information Society:

Constantly develop yourself. The amount of information in the world doubles every 18 months, which means that to keep up with such a rapid growth of the information you need to read a lot and give a lot of time to self-development and self-learning.

Think innovatively. Try not to get attached to some existing methods and tactics of behavior. Interested in new and innovative approaches to solution of common problems. Try to solve problems at a higher level than at the level they arise.

Be open. To be clear - does not involve telling all the secrets, or about what the person is engaged with every day in details. First, to be open is to have own point of view on every issue and not be afraid to tell about it the rest of the people.

Think. Develop your speed of thinking, think as much as possible, think always. In any problem always find causal relationships, analyze what is happening around. Any information that you receive should not be someone's a statement of fact but conclusions of your logical connection of the facts.
Results
As a result we can say that the information society - is a perfectly natural stage in the development of mankind, and as with any stage of development, it carries a lot of changes. Now personally, I highlight three main words in a new institutional environment: they are urgency, responsibility and speed. It is necessary that your every action met all three criteria. Then you'll actually keep up with the times.
